Luann Lehnertz, RD, LD, CDE
Dietician/Nutritionist
Luann Lehnertz received her BS at Mankato State University in Minnesota and completed her internship at Indiana University – Purdue University Medical Center.
She has worked for St. Charles Medical Center at both the Bend as well as the Redmond facilities for the past 31 years providing patients with medical nutrition therapy. As a Certified Diabetic Educator, she provides nutrition instruction to patients in the SCMC Certified Diabetes Programs and the outpatient Self-Management of Diabetes Program. She works closely with the ASC endocrinologists to provide education and medical nutrition therapy for patients with pre-diabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome and conditions surrounding blood glucose challenges.
LuAnn has been on the Bariatric Surgery Team at ASC since its inception. She developed the nutrition plan for bariatric surgery patients and guides them through this plan before and after surgery. In addition, she is the dietician for ASC’s newest Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) program. Her passion for wellness and weight management is well served at ASC.
LuAnn is a certified exercise leader with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and she complements her healthy living philosophy by leading group exercise in indoor bike spinning, entry level sculpting and weight training classes.
