Karen Campbell, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Dr. Karen A. Campbell joined the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department at St. Charles Medical Center in Jan. 2009 and specifically works to provide behavioral health support to the St. Charles Bariatric Surgery Program. Dr. Campbell conducts patient interviews prior to bariatric surgery in order to help them meet their weight loss goals. She also works with patients on an on-going basis to ensure their surgery is a success.

During her time at St. Charles Dr. Campbell also founded the Behavioral Pain Management Services program to provide additional treatment and management options for patients living with chronic pain. Overall, Dr. Campbell’s practice focuses on the intersection of physical health and emotional well-being, with emphasis on maximizing quality of life.

Dr. Campbell earned a Bachelor of Science degree through the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University, with a major in psychology and minors in biomedical sciences and gerontology. She earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Kentucky, with a concentration in medical behavioral science. She completed her training with a clinical internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Florida Health Science Center, Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, in Gainesville, Florida, again with an emphasis in health psychology and behavioral medicine.

She moved to Bend in 2008 with her husband to enjoy the unlimited outdoor recreational opportunities, clean air, and small, friendly community. She enjoys reading and all forms of skiing in her free time.
