Stephen Archer, MD, FACS Surgeon
Dr. Stephen Archer graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical Center in 1991 and completed general surgery training at the University of Cincinnati in 1998. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics at Emory University in 2000 and stayed on the surgery faculty at Emory after graduation. In 2001 he moved to Central Oregon and joined Advanced Specialty Care.

G. Rodney Buzzas MD, MS, FACS Surgeon
Dr. Buzzas was born and raised in Great Falls Montana. He received his bachelor degree, masters in molecular biology, and medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completion of his surgical residency at the University of Kansas in 1998, he and his family moved to Bend.

J. Mark Maddox, MD, FACS Surgeon
Dr. Mark Maddox was raised and educated in Tennessee. He received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in 1997 and was trained in general surgery at Orlando Regional Healthcare System in Florida. In 2003, Dr. Maddox completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Connecticut’s St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He and his wife, Patricia moved to Bend where he joined Advanced Specialty Care.

Ngocthuy T. Hughes, DO Surgeon
Dr. Ngocthuy T. Hughes was originally born in Saigon, Vietnam, then moved to the United States where she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her five younger siblings. Dr. Hughes attended medical school at A.T. Still University-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, graduating in 2002.
