Ngocthuy "Thuy" Hughes, DO

Dr. Ngocthuy T. Hughes was originally born in Saigon, Vietnam, then moved to the United States where she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with her five younger siblings. Dr. Hughes attended medical school at A.T. Still University-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, graduating in 2002. She continued her training with a residency in general surgery at Sun Coast Hospital/NSU-COM in Largo, Florida, followed by a fellowship in laparoscopic bariatric surgery at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Hughes has a special interest in advanced laparoscopy and the surgical treatment of obesity, as well as a passion to provide general surgery services for her community. She is grateful for her osteopathic training, which has equipped her with an integrated approach to patient care by treating the mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Hughes takes a balanced approach to her career by staying focused on faith, family, and friends. She thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family as well as staying active in her church community. She also enjoys cooking and gardening, and is looking forward to learning fly fishing from Drs. Archer and Maddox.
