G. Rodney Buzzas MD, MS, FACS Surgeon
Dr. Buzzas was born and raised in Great Falls Montana. He received his bachelor degree, masters in molecular biology, and medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completion of his surgical residency at the University of Kansas in 1998, he and his family moved to Bend.
Dr. Buzzas’ area of special interest is venous diseases. He has extensive experience in treating venous diseases and was the first to use minimally invasive techniques, including endoluminal laser ablation and radio frequency ablation to treat vein problems. Dr. Buzzas is the medical director of Advanced Vein Care, the only comprehensive vein treatment center in Central Oregon. Advanced Vein Care is the northwest regional training center for the VNUS endoluminal radiofrequency ablation procedure.
Dr. Buzzas also has interest in minimally invasive surgical procedures, upper and lower endoscopy, breast cancer, surgical endocrinology and abdominal surgery. Dr. Buzzas is an associate professor of surgery for the OHSU physician assistant program. In 2005, ASC won the teaching award for the program.
