When I was finally referred to Advanced Specialty Care, my legs were painful, bulging, infected, itchy and just plain ugly. I was a little scared when I first went in to speak with Dr. Buzzas and his PA, Eric Davis. Firstly, I had been to several doctors to try and find out what was wrong with my legs and had never received a proper diagnosis. So when Eric Davis looked at my legs and said he was familiar with this problem and that I was in the right place, my stress level dropped a bit. Then, when he continued to talk and explain to me what the process was and that he too had had a similar experience, my stress level dropped a bit more. And when it came time to figure out how much the several procedures would cost, my stress was relieved when they told me I would be a patient of theirs no matter what my financial situation happened to be. All in all, my first impression of Advanced Specialty Care (ASC) was a resounding positive experience.
Throughout my several visits to ASC, I have had the pleasure to get to know the outstanding people who work there. I would thank them all individually here in this testimonial but I wouldn’t want to forget anyone, because every person in that office has contributed to my care, as if I were the only patient they had. From the financial office helping me get through Volunteers in Medicine and applying to Oregon Health Plan for me, to referring me to Prosthetics by Linda to get an extreme discount on stockings, to calling and reminding me of everything (thanks Mary), to the most important aspect of all, creating a comfortable, fun atmosphere in the ‘procedure room”. They even asked me what I would like to listen to while they were working on my legs (thanks Danielle).
Now when I look at my legs, they look so good that I barely recognize them. My legs no longer hurt or bulge. My legs are not infected and they feel lighter. I have some discoloration still and have a slight itch, but I have ASC to thank for consulting a dermatologist on my behalf. Everything I have needed or still need has been or is being handled with professionalism and in a way that makes me feel like I owe them my entire future. However, knowing the staff the way I do now, they wouldn’t take it.
There is just one thing left to say. If you have varicose veins, there is no doubt in my mind that the very special people at ASC will take care of you and fix your legs, period. Thanks for listening and thank God for Advanced Specialty Care!
