Dr. McCarthy to provide services in Madras   Advanced Specialty Care has teamed up with Mountain View Medical & Surgical Associates (MSA) to bring Endocrinology & Diabetic treatment services to the Madras area.  Dr. Patrick McCarthy began seeing patients in Madras April 17, 2008 and plans to be there once per month. Dr. McCarthy specializes in the care of metabolic diseases to include treating and monitoring patients with: diabetes; thyroid growths, cancer or enlarged thyroid glands; obesity; conditions such as metabolic syndrome or rare adrenal growths that may cause hypertension; lipid disorders; other disorders that can affect bones; and pituitary conditions. Read more here. ______________________________________________ Dr. Jana Jaderborg returns to South America   Dr. Jana Jaderborg, a general surgeon with Advanced Specialty Care, will travel to Quito, Equador in June 2008 with the non-governmental agency MedLife for the purpose of providing medical services to indigent residents. Medlife will be working at the public hospital to provide basic medical services for residents of Quito. “I’m really looking forward to this opportunity,” she says. In 2007 Dr. Jaderborg went to Guatemala for the same cause and recalls, “For me, this was pure surgery & the ideal way of taking care of patients. I didn’t have to worry about insurance authorizations & being tied up with bureaucracy. The priorities for the less fortunate Guatemalan population are centered on daily survival. This brought me back to the reason I became a doctor.”
